Assistant, Professor, Dept. of Architecture
Ar. Kalyani Chakravarthi is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture & Planning, Aurora University. She holds degrees in Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) and a Master鈥檚 in Urban and Regional Planning from Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU), Hyderabad. With 8 years of professional experience, her work spans academics, architecture, urban planning, and research.
Ar.Kalyani previously served as an Assistant Professor at Aurora鈥檚 Design Institute, Habsiguda, for 3 years. With a passion towards teaching she is actively experimenting and adapting different student centric teaching methods. She held key administrative roles such as Exam In-Charge, Student Coordinator, and Internship Coordinator. She actively contributed to the academic environment by organizing and coordinating workshops, including 鈥淩emembering Ar. B.V. Doshi鈥� at JNAFAU and 鈥淯nderstanding Climatology Lab Equipment鈥� in collaboration with the Indian Meteorological Department, Hyderabad. Additionally, she participated in Faculty Development 亚色影库s on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Design Patents, Sustainable Cities & Communities, and the Application of Technology in Architectural Education, conducted by COA-TRC.
She worked as a Research Assistant for a PHD work on 鈥淚mpact of the Outer Ring Road on adjoining urban land developments - case study: Hyderabad鈥�. project on surrounding areas in Hyderabad鈥�. She is also associated to develop the New Course Structure and detail syllabus for B.Arch course for the School of Planning and Architecture, Aurora (Deemed to be) University.
Her architectural portfolio includes diverse Architecture and Interior design projects for various building typologies. In urban planning, she has made significant contributions to projects like the PMAY 鈥淗ousing for All Plan of Action鈥� (HFAPoA) for various districts in Karnataka, prepared by NCPE. She has actively participated in live projects, including the 鈥淩estoration of Kudikunta Lake鈥� with The Rain Water Project, a SAHE initiative, where she presented innovative community participation techniques. Her involvement in the 鈥淰emulawada Temple and Area Development Plan鈥� by VTADA included conducting comprehensive surveys on land use, transportation, and household demographics to support development strategies. Her additional contributions include digitizing Alampur village as part of the 鈥淣ew ULBs in DTCP Limits鈥� project for Telangana State and Geotagging temples across Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Secunderabad for the Center for Environment and Development, Hyderabad.
